English-Spanish translation of the text connectivism: 21st century´s new learning theory

Abstract

The purpose of this project is to deliver to Spanish speakers an accurate translation of the text CONNECTIVISM: 21ST CENTURY'S NEW LEARNING THEORY containing the message the article portrays about the characteristics of this modern method and the impact it has had in the educational field on recent years. Even though the article is not focused on a specific learning environment, the translation of this text will help those who are interested in the language teaching field because it provides useful information regarding this latest learning theory that is based on the use of electronic technologies. e- learning materials, and the Internet in both teaching and learning areas. This project will be also useful for them because it includes a brief summary of the existing translation techniques set up by Vinay and Darbelnet (1958) as well as two important analyses based on the translation of the article. Those analyses consist of the description of the vocabulary problems encountered, the translation techniques used in the translation process and some examples of them.
