dc.description.abstract | Today, as in the past, communication has been the way how humans exchange thoughts and emotions in order to understand each other, which has served to solve problems in a fast and efficient way. According to Udoakah(1998),“communication is a process, through which needs, emotions, desires, goals and sentiments are expressed among human beings using codes, symbols and languages understood by the parties involved in the process”. The purpose of human communication is to give or provide information and, according to Wood and Duck (2006, p.3), “communication is important for more than solving problems or making disclosures”. For most of us, everyday talk and nonverbal interaction are the very essence of relationships. The discipline of communication focuses on how people use messages to generate meanings within and across various contexts, cultures, channels and media. The discipline promotes the effective and ethical practice of human communication and also includes learning about how people relate to each other and about what type of communication is appropriate for a given situation. Within communication, translation has played a crucial role in our lives and cultures as, people have used translation as a tool of communication, to acquire knowledge and exchange ideas. Nowadays translation is considered an art of words, a field of knowledge because it is not only a process to translate words into another language; we need to know the meaning of the words and how to use them in order for people to become interested in finding a sense in the text and to enhance the beauty of the language in constructing new words. |
