In this study are analyzed those archaeological sites affected by territorial, urban and tourist transformations in the surroundings of Puerto Morelos, municipality of Benito Juarez, Quintana Roo, Mexico. The analysis was made under a fouryears historic and legal scrutiny dating to the years 2005 - 2010. The main results are their spatial distribution, the diminishing of archaeological sites and the percentage of conservation due to lack of managing, unprotected and real estate speculation facing municipal urban planning. The article makes an approach to the concept of space throughout the history of Geography and cultural landscapes, where theoretically and physically archaeological heritage is found. It is also analyzed the role of human action and the value that territoriality framed by laws and standards used by institutions to orient adequately urban planning.
